Chartered in 1955 Wellington South is the Capital's second oldest Rotary Club. As part of a powerful world-wide organisation we are dedicated to the wellbeing of the community both internationally, and locally. Worldwide there are more than 33,000 Rotary Clubs in 200 countries which all contribute financially and in other ways to international projects like the eradication of polio, and educational scholarships. We also contribute financially and in numerous other ways in our local community.
Meeting Place:
We meet every Wednesday at the Victoria Bowling Club, 125 Pirie Street, Mount Victoria. It's at the top of Pirie St., you turn left just before the bus tunnel. (Don't try driving through the tunnel!)
Time:
The timing is 12.00 o'clock noon for 12.15. This allows time for fellowship before the meeting starts-an important part of Rotary
Next meeting - 23 May will be CLUB FORUM. If you have any items you'd like to have discussed, please contact Francis Fanning who's filling in for our esteemed leader while he's overseas. His contact details can be found on our contacts page....just click on the button above. Visitors as always will be most welcome to attend.
Rotary was founded on fellowship, a cornerstone that continues to attract members today. Rotarians enjoy camaraderie with like-minded professionals, and club projects provide opportunities to develop enduring friendships. Club members who travel have friendly contacts in almost every city of the world. As a Rotarian you are welcomed at any Rotary meeting (and meal) anywhere.
Encouraging high ethical standards and respect for all worthy vocations has been a hallmark of Rotary from its earliest days. In their business and professional lives, Rotarians abide by The Four-Way Test:
Of the things we think, say or do
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Leadership
Rotary is an organization of successful professionals. Team-building, fundraising, public speaking, planning, organization, and communication are just some of the leadership skills that club members can exercise and enhance. Being a Rotary leader provides further experience in motivating, inspiring, and guiding others.
